I am SO excited to share this beautiful Southern Inspired Styled Bridal Shoot at Mooreland Mansion in Kirtland, Ohio! The idea for this session came to me after vacationing in Savannah, Georgia. When I saw the historical buildings, plantations and Spanish moss draping from regal oaks I was instantly in love! I started looking into the wedding culture in the south and discovered the tradition of “Bridals”. I decided this was something I wanted to offer our Brides! Nicole with Sirpilla Soirees helped make my vision an even better reality! The location for the shoot was Mooreland Mansion, which truly looks like a plantation from the south even though it’s located right in Kirtland, Ohio! This wedding venue has elegance, beauty and three gardens! We also had a beautiful horse, a vintage car and an adorable Bermadoodle named Phoenix!

What is a Bridal session | Reasons to have one
I realize that Bridals are a very southern tradition but I really think they are amazing for ALL Brides! So what exactly is a Bridal? A Bridal Session is actually a photo session that traditionally takes place 1-2 months before the wedding. In years past this was something Southern Brides would display a framed portrait at the reception and also give as a gift to her parents. There are other benefits to having a Bridal Session that go beyond tradition though.
HAVE A “TRIAL RUN” OF YOUR BRIDAL LOOK
A Bridal Session is a great opportunity to see how your hair and makeup look with your gown. This way you can adjust anything you may not love! Many brides choose to schedule their hair and makeup trials at the time of their bridal session so that you will be able to see exactly how everything will come together. You might even consider having your florist create a mini version of your bridal bouquet!
GAIN CONFIDENCE POSING AS A BRIDE
You have already mastered posing with your future husband at your Engagement Session, but what about as a Bride? Take the nerves away totally by spending some extra time mastering how to move and pose in your gorgeous gown.

We always make it a point to schedule time for portraits of you and your Bridesmaids on your wedding day but a Bridal takes that a step further, with 1-2 hours of focused photography on you alone. Plus it’s a chance for you to wear your gorgeous bridal look more than once!

Just because this is a southern “tradition” doesn’t mean you have to follow the old school rules, not with us! A Bridal Session is totally about YOU. We can make this as elaborate or as simple as you’d like. Some Brides want to have a portrait session in their gown AFTER the wedding! Anything goes!
